First Tattoo

Whew! Completed my first tattoo! Zippo lighter with Watchmen logo.

Looks dark now, will heal up to 40% lighter. The smiley face color is muddled with plasma, looks orange. Apparently, yellow is hard to tattoo, but instructor said I had good saturation!

I was a nervous wreck, but calmed down once I got started.

Sooooo much easier than 2nd skin!

Client was very pleased, gave me a hug when he left!

Staff and students were also very supportive. High-fives all around for completing my first tattoo. Luv you guys! <3

Day 4 of 5 on sec skin

Monday will be my last day on second skin. After that I can begin scheduling new clients. Already have six prospects, only 24 more to go!   Tell all your friends, I'm ready!

GREAT NEWS!

Visit with neuro-surgeon brought some great news.  He had already received the MRIs, tumors were hardly visible!! 

My son was so excited he texted his friends. One response sums it up best:

"Fuck yeah!  Chase: 1  cancer: 0" 

Couldn't have said it better myself....   :'-)  

Color on Second Skin

First attempt on Second Skin with color...  Not too happy about it. A little frustrated trying to get the color in and fading correct.  Advisor says its not uncommon, it's much more dense than real skin.  Still have two more practices before I'm ready.  Can't wait! 

Did I mention I have my first client already lined up?  (If he follows through)

My first day on the floor with second skin, another student was tattooing a friend with another friend looking on.  The second friend said he would be my first tattoo!  The other student had tattooed a pack of cigarettes on the side of one leg, now he wants a zippo lighter on the other and said I could do it.  My choice on the style, I had free reign. He said I could put a smiley face on it if I wanted. Immediately, I thought of the blood-stained smiley face from Watchmen!

Can't wait to do this tattoo!!  :-)

Excited to learn the results, esp. after hearing his protein markers are low!

Long day, today... 9am - 4:30pm....MRI and xrays, transfusion, and port follow up. Won't get results of MRI for a couple of days...

Ugh!! Adele won grammies. Every song sounds like she's whining.... And over-played on the radio.... Am I really the only one who thinks this?!

Koi done!

Sunday, finally got the Koi done in color! Took me four weeks to heal over and stop flaking.  Looks REALLY dark now, but will fade up to 40% in about a month. Very happy with it!  Especially when done by a student.  (If you didn't know already, this is rear of left calf.) Pictures aren't doing it justice, looks WAY better in real life...

(I've decided, the four blossoms in the water represent me, Rick, Chase, and Kendra.  Luv you guys!!)

Shading 2nd skin

Totally forgot!   Worked on second skin last Saturday.  Lesson:  practice shading. Some of the dark spots in the blank spaces are where the advisor was teaching me.  How do you like the shading on the tree trunk? :)  Or wings?  Didn't have time to finish the yin yang, the needle was too small and would have taken a long time.  Would have liked to add some shading to the snail branch, too.  Fun!  Can't wait for coloring. Can't wait for the real thing! 

Dr wants to sched an MRI for next week, routine for half way thru chemo, keeping fingers crossed!

Good news! Protein markers from the tumors are down, almost to normal levels!

Day 1 of another 5-day round. Red blood cells down, may need a transfusion next week.
